I’ve always been very concerned with skin care and aging even at an early age thanks to how my mother raised me and the values that she instilled in me about skin and skin care. I started getting Botox at 22 and I’ve since stopped. In my daily makeup routine post I mentioned to you guys that I stopped my skin care routine for a week and it was a horrible disaster.
When I first decided to start using serums and anti-aging products I was very overwhelmed. I already spend what I consider a fair amount on makeup products. There were so many products and lines to choose from. I wanted a complete system and I wanted it to feel easy. After I found The Ordinary I was hooked!
Here’s the breakdown of what I’m using:
AM Routine
In the mornings I like to use The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser or a micellar water. I follow that with Thayers Facial Toner. Currently, I’m using Rose Petal but my favorite version has to be the Cucumber. Then I put 3-4 drops of The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid and the Resveratrol serum in the palm of my hand. I rub them together in my hands and then apply to my face and neck. Whatever is left over I rub on the backs of my hands. I like to do whatever I am doing to my face to my hands as well since those are the two parts of your body that show aging readily. Then I get started with my everyday makeup routine.
PM Routine
In the evening hours I like to remove my makeup with my micellar water and then follow with The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser. I then use my Thayers Facial Toner and follow the same mixing and application method with the Retinol serum and the Ascorbyl Glucoside serum. Right now since it’s summer I’m not using a moisturizer but come winter I’ll definitely consider adding something.
And that’s it! I’m all about simple and easy, and this routine is perfect for that.
